*the traveller

Some people walk through life, some people skip. It's all about your preference. Welcome to the blog of a girl who skips, and prances, and every once and awhile, twirls.

I'm currently a graduate student at a university in the [fabulous] state of Pennsylvania. I'm pursuing a degree in K-12 school counseling and although it takes a lot of time, I refuse to let it control my life. I also work two jobs to keep the roof over my head and the vehicle to take me from point A to F, and the food that I experiment cook with. Again, that takes a lot of time, but I refuse to let it control my life.

I'm a girl who needs to write to process the happenings of life that occur every day. I'm one of those people some refer to as "introverts" which leads for some to automatically assume that means that I'm boring. I'm here to inform you that is so so so not the case. Ask my roommates. Or my stuffed animals. They'll report the contrary. I'm also coming to realize that I'm fairly artistic. My mother recently reported that I came out of the womb with crayons in hand (how about a round of applause for her uterus, eh?) My Nikon is usually always attached to me, and Photoshop and I are pretty good acquaintances. The piano and I are like, best friends.

I have some [FUN-ominal] compadres who have been walking this journey of life with me. They make it fun, they keep it real, and most importantly, we don't take this life too seriously. I'll probably mention them a time or two. We do fun things, which usually sound incredibly boring to the rest of the world, but they create explicit and captivating memories for us. They usually include board games, walks around the neighborhood or downtown or city island, happy hours, or composing encouraging notes to send to strangers.

I have two [splendorous] siblings who you'll probably hear about a time or two, or ten. The sister is just like me, yet so completely different. We sing songs, make one another laugh, and exchange the most outrageous stories (hers always seem to win). The brother is taller than me, majorly athletic, super genuine and camera shy. Don't worry. I'll try to snag a shot or two of him for the completion of this section. In fact, I must give them credit for the HTML. Because of them, I was known in the household as "sissy", not due to my cowardly actions, but due to my role as 'the big sister'. The older I become the more and more I realize that there will come a time when these two people in the world will be the only ones who will ever truly understand me. I couldn't be more thankful for them. Oh yea, and I was also raised by two people who I lovingly refer to as "mom, dad, momma, daddy-o, mommacita, Bill" or any other type of variation of the previously stated.

This traveller walks by faith, not by sight. Thus far it's led me overseas to China, and back. I know it'll take me somewhere else. Just not today.

I'm a long time travelling away from home
I'm a long time travelling here below
To lay this body down."
